What type of meditation techniques are there?
Buddhist meditation, transcendental, and yogic. These 3 different types of meditation teach about dropping the mind, thinking nothing, having no thoughts, or having a mantra.
Active Meditation is handling extraneous thoughts and directing your thoughts, using guided imagery and visualisation, to be able to achieve with those thoughts. See Benefits of Meditation above.
What is an easy meditation method?
To build Peaceful Place (PP) - a spot inside our mind, whereby relaxation and focused concentration is achieved - the Alpha brainwave state. And then to go deeper by using the colours of the rainbow down through from red to purple, to be able to access the deeper Theta state. Once this state is accessed, the guided imagery and visualisation of Active Meditation can begin.
Is meditation music advisable during meditation?
Whatever suits the individual, however for beginners, music which is at 60 beats per minute is preferable (Science says that the heartbeat gets in time with the music and therefore the relaxed state is automatically accessed.

Is Positive affirmation the same thing as Goal Setting?
No. Positive affirmations are good, positive self talk done with the conscious mind. Goals are done with the subconscious mind in the Alpha brainwave state, using emotion (the language of the subconscious mind).

Goal setting is covered in the 2-Day CALM Life Skills Seminar and also in the CHI Seminar. With the CHI Seminar you work on several goals in several different areas so that you work towards a balanced life.
Techniques that are covered include the wording of the goal, the laws of goal setting, the reasons for the goals you want, visualisation of the success of the goal, emotionalising the goal and putting it all together and doing all this 5 times a day in the Alpha state.
